37 (a) ta tùpame ta otsɛ̀em pà sam mesìla lɛ̀p i s kartòf
We tap on it, and sift [the flour] out. I’ve [also] made bread with potatoes.

38 (a) nèmaše bì ni ednà godìna gràt i tò i nèmam bràšno màlko
There wasn’t – hail battered us one year and I didn’t have flour, only a little,

39 (a) jà svàra kartòf òbela go pa go izmɛ̀šam noštuvìte
So I boil up a potato, peel it, and mix it in the kneading trough

40 (a) pà zàmesa lɛ̀p kato go izvàdiš bliznìca [laughter]
and knead bread – And when you take it out, it’s the twin sister [of bread]! [laughter]
