Well yes, I pastured them in the hills in the springtime.

26 (a) se pùštu govèdata se pasù nò bèše u balkàna ìmaše livàde
You let the cattle go and they graze. It was in the hills, there were meadows,

27 (a) ìmaše n’ìve ìmaše sìčko i mì tàm gi pasèmo dogdè
there were fields, there was everything. And we pastured them there until

28 (a) se okòsi ama nè e da gi pasèmo u u livàdete
[it’s time to] mow. You can’t pasture them in the meadows [then]

30 (a) a mì po ìma si ə gorà nò takàva dṛžàvna gorà
And we – well, there’s the state forest.

31 (a) ma rètka ìma si trevà i tàm smo gi pàsli
It’s thinly [wooded], there’s grass, and we pastured them there

32 (a) kato se okòsi mi gi pasèmo pòsle po livàdete
during mowing time. After that we pasture them in the meadows.

33 (a) pasèmo gi dogdè se stàne žɤ̀vata gotòva pòsle òdimo na žɤ̀tve
We pasture them until it’s harvest, time, and then go off to harvest

People from Teteven settled here because of their livestock – to have enough space

for them to graze. And they also kept houses in town.
