165 (c) šè a bulì do drùgijə gerg’òvden’ tvà n’ɛ̀štu š’ə s’ədì

they’ll get sick and all these [ills] will stick around [until] next [year’s] St. George’s day.

167 (c) e tvà kòjtu gu č’ùvə pək kòjtu ni č’ùvə d’è də znàm

That’s [only] for the ones who observe it, but how should I know about those who don’t?

168 (c) sìč’ku ìməše nəs’àkəde

There were all sorts of [customs] everywhere,

102 (a) vɤž a a lovìli sme ngi dèn elì na gèrg’ovden

You see, we “caught” a saint’s day for them – either St. George’s day,

111 (a) i go narečème dnèska gèrg’ovden zaràn

that we name as his saint’s day. Today St. George’s day, tomorrow –

10 (d) kəkvòtu ubrəzùvəme s’èlsku stupànstvu rəštɤ̀ gu sèeme nə pòdziməšnu vr’ème

[according to] the way we organize our village economy. We sow rye in the autumn:

11 (d) kàktu nàštu edìn mɛ̀sec du gerg’òvden’ i i i gu prudəlžɛ̀və

in our region [that’s] one month before St. George’s Day. And - and we carry on

116 (d) segà e ufčèrski pràznik na gerg’òvden ə pò nəprèž beše gerg’òvden

Now it’s a shepherd’s holiday, St. George’s Day, where it used to be [the actual] saint’s day.

117 (d) i gu ispòlzvəme kətu zə zə pràznik i b’àgəhmə nə bàn’ətə

We used it as – as a holiday, and went off to the baths.

119 (d) vudɤ̀tə ispòlzvəhə i pràihnə gul’èm ədrəl’ès tàm

they made use of that water. We made a great “Adreles” holiday there.

120 (d) ədrəl’ès gu kàzvəme

“Adreles” [is what] we call it (St. George’s Day).
