then we reap it. After that we put it in stacks and pound it

and then we thresh it. We do up the rye also, and we make use of the straw

and they become lentils – the remaining [pounded] grain which we can use.

Zabernovo

36 (a) zərnòtu se strùpvə sič i č’àkame vɛ̀ter segà də dùhne də
and the grain is all piled up, and we wait for the wind to blow.

39 (a) slàmətə jə zìmə vɛ̀terə ž’ìtutu pàdə tùkə nə drùgətə stɤ̀rnə
The wind takes the straw, and the grain falls here on the other side

43 (a) tò e udvɛ̀enu tuvà vèč’e tvà e ud’ɛ̀ennu ž’ìtutu
It’s been winnowed already! The grain is winnowed.

Žitnica 3

7 (b) nè̝məh si nè̝məm zɤ̀rnu də dàvəm pàk kò də nəpràim
and I didn’t have any grain to give [them]. So what could I do?
